Libby and the Parisian Puzzle

Jo Clarke

Libby is no stranger to adventure.  She usually travels with her globe-trotting Mother, but this time she is being sent to live with her Aunt who runs a travelling school which is currently in Paris.

Libby is a fan of detective novels and is always on the lookout for a mystery to solve. When her Aunt is accused of stealing a valuable piece of jewellery, Libby and her new friend Connie set out to prove her innocence and uncover the real culprit.

Like all good mystery stories, the clues are all there for the reader to spot and this makes it a great introduction to the genre for young readers of 7+.

With some of the action taking place across Paris, it introduces children to some of the city’s iconic landmarks. Cake loving Libby makes the most of the cafes and French patisserie on offer whilst she and Connie try to sort the facts from the red herrings.

The story will appeal to fans of Enid Blyton’s boarding school and mystery series and is perfect for those who aren’t quite ready for the demands of Robin Stevens Murder most unladylike series.

The concept of a boarding school which travels the world is inspired and will provide endless opportunities for more stories in the series.

Jo Clarke is a school librarian and an award-winning blogger with her review site, Book Lover Jo and now she has created her own debut novel which is already receiving well deserved widespread praise!
