This May we are launching the first ever Crediton Big Read!
We want as many people as possible to get involved in reading books!
So what does it mean?
Look out for these three titles…
Captain Cat and the Treasure Map by Sue Mongredien (illustrated by Kate Pankhurst): a new laugh-out-loud story for emerging readers.
The 13-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths (illustrated by Terry Denton): first of the comedy classic, bestselling Treehouse series for readers aged 8-12.
Raven Black by Ann Cleeves: the first novel in the Shetland series (as seen on TV) and winner of the CWA Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel.
We are giving away hundreds of these books to local schools and leaving copies in shops, doctors’ surgeries, cafes and hairdressers. And of course there will be copies at the bookshop. We invite you to read them and pass them on to others to enjoy.
The Big Read Rules:
1. Pick up a copy of a book, for free, from CCB or one of the Big Read drop off/pick up stations.
2. Read it (best enjoyed with a cuppa, curled up on the sofa, also works on the train, your lunch break at work or in the garden!)
3. Pass it on! To friends, neighbours and colleagues – or take your copy to one of the official Crediton Big Read drop off/pick up stations after you’ve finished.
4. Talk about it (but no spoilers, please) in the street, over fences, or on social media using hashtag #creditonbigread.
And that’s not all!
