Author Clare Bainbridge will be at The Bookery on Tuesday 11th February at 3.30pm talking about life in ancient Rome, drawing on her bestselling Capta series of novels.
Clare has written three detective novels set in ancient Rome, around 40 BCE: Unquiet Spirits, Saturn’s Gold and Citizens and Slaves.
Her stories often feature food eaten at the time, it’s preparation and associated rituals. Clare will talk about the culture of this period and the profile that food and its preparation played in the lives of the Romans.
