We were delighted to be joined at The Bookery last week by the legendary storytelling duo Sarah McIntyre & Philip Reeve who were with us to design our shop window, celebrate their latest Adventuremice book and for Philip to discuss the return to his award-winning Mortal Engines series.

Our shop window is now all set for Christmas having been Adventuremice-d! It was fabulous watching Philip and Sarah in action, seeing the Mice appear as they transformed the window with their beautiful design. It looks beautiful and we hope that our customers and those passing along the high street in Crediton will enjoy it.

Having completed that and after a short break for a well deserved cup of tea, Philip and Sarah entertained their young fans signing copies of The Ghostly Galleon, the latest book in the Adventuremice series, with Sarah inspiring the children with her fabulous drawings of characters from the book. In this book, the Adventuremice hear about ghostly goings-on at sea and try to get to the bottom of the mystery of Old Captain Cheesebeard and his ancient treasure hoard! We have signed copies available for each of the six books in the Adventuremice series.

We were then joined by an audience for Philip’s event taking us through his return to the fabulously successful Mortal Engines series with the recent launch of Thunder City, an epic, thrilling, action-packed, city-eat-city adventure starring brave fighter Tamzin Pook, who must travel from the spectator sport combat arena in Margate to the Thunder City, where a chilling, ruthless villain has seized power. After reading an extract from the book, Philip fielded a range of questions, the Mortal Engines film released in 2018, his writing process and much more before signing copies of his books.
